The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is all set to start in Australia from October 10. All 16 participating teams are busy applying final touches to their plans for the upcoming mega event, and India are no different as they will be desperate to do better than their Group stage exit last time.

India have also announced their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma is all set to lead them during the tournament whereas KL Rahul has been appointed as the vice-captain. The return of pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel is a good news for India. Both players got sidelined from the recently concluded Asia Cup with injuries and they literally raced against time to be fit to play in the World Cup.

Both Bumrah and Harshal are quite essenatial to India’s bowling attack as they are two of the best death and middle-overs bowlers in the format right now. Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has also retained his place in the squad, despite his lean patch in the format. Veteran batter Dinesh Karthik has also been named in the 15-man line-up along with off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

India has also named three standby players — Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar — to travel along with the original 15-man squad. They will have a key role to play in case any of the first team players get ruled out of the tournament due to injury or some other reasons.
