France and Argentina, the two finalists of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, are all set to lock horns in one final battle on Sunday but before that, Croatia and Morocco will take each other on in an exciting contest on Saturday to claim the bragging rights for the third-place finish.
Croatia lost 3-0 to Argentina after yet another impressive World Cup showing, whereas a spirited Moroccan side also lost out to France in the semi-finals after delivering stellar performances throughout this campaign.
Now defence has been the strength of both these sides in this World Cup and that’s why we might see Croatia and Morocco trying to shut each other out in this game on Saturday. Moreover, both sides were placed in the same group and the match ended in a goalless draw when they met.
The attacking intensity is obviously going to be a bit more in this match as a third-place finish is at stake. And in that case, Croatia have the upper hand owing to the quality and experience they possess in their midfield and forward lines. The likes of Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic form an excellent midfield trio whereas Ivan Perisic and Mario Pasalic are pretty hard to contain from the wings as well.
As far as Morocco’s offensive line goes, Youssef En-Nesyri and Hakim Ziyech have been in pretty good form but the Moroccan defence will have their task cut out dealing with the Croatian attack, which plays with three men up front as compared to Morocco’s lone striker strategy.
