The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced changes to its domestic international calendar for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The decision affected both men’s and women’s tours. The updates, released on Monday, involve venue shifts for several marquee fixtures, including Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
The iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata was originally scheduled to host the second Test of the West Indies series in October. It will now stage the opening Test of India’s two-match series against South Africa. This game will begin on November 14. In turn, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi has been reassigned to host the second Test against the West Indies, scheduled for October 10-14.
“The 2nd Test against West Indies, originally slated for Kolkata, will now be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the 1st Test against South Africa, starting November 14, 2025, has been shifted from New Delhi to Eden Gardens in Kolkata,” confirmed the BCCI in its statement.
The Australia Women’s ODI series also saw a venue reshuffle. The series was initially planned for Chennai. Now, it will be played in New Chandigarh and New Delhi due to ongoing renovations at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The first two matches, on September 14 and 17, will be hosted at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. The third and final game will be held in New Delhi on September 20.
BCCI also relocated the three-match one-day series between India A and South Africa A from Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium to the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The move was made without a stated reason.
The updated schedule now includes a comprehensive array of matches across formats and locations:
- Australia Women’s Tour: ODIs in New Chandigarh (Sept 14, 17) and New Delhi (September 20)
- Australia Men’s A Tour: Multi-day games in Lucknow (Sept 16-26), ODIs in Kanpur (September 30–October 5)
