They needed two runs off the last two balls, but David Miller refused to take a single off the penultimate delivery and forced himself to be pressurised to hit the final ball, which he eventually missed. This silly error virtually gifted two points to GT. The visitors batted first and put up 210-4 on the board thanks to captain Shubman Gill, who top-scored with 70 off 45 deliveries. He was also helped out in the run-scoring department by Jos Butter (52) and Washington Sundar (55).

DC, in the second innings, got off to an excellent start, with openers Pathum Nissanka (41) and KL Rahul (92) putting up a 72-run stand. However, the error he made at the death cost his side the game, with Rashid Khan leading the way with three wickets for GT. DC are now fourth in the table with four points, while GT are sixth with two.
